From Awassa, it is possible to take a small detour to Wondogenet. A gravel road leads to a remote valley, famous for its hot springs, which flow from different points in the ground. Day trippers splash in the swimming pool, fed by natural springs. Elsewhere, visitors encounter locals who sit and swim in small natural pools, as the hot water is said to have healing properties.
A walk along the slope into the valley, across lush vegetation, is particularly beautiful. On the way a small waterfall offers a nice place to shower directly in the nature – a wonderful treat!

Meals & Accommodation: These can be found at a hotel complex and restaurant located near the pools. The location is a bit simple and has seen better days, but clean rooms are available.
