Safaris & Nature Tours

Ethiopia boasts an extensive variety of landscapes. A quarter of the country lies at an altitude of approximately 2,000 metres. Ras Dashen, the fifth highest mountain in Africa, rises in the northern part of Ethiopia surrounded by fertile green plateau, hills, forests, meadows and colourful fields. Drive only a few hundred kilometres further and you are deep in the Danakil Depression, at the lowest and hottest point of Africa, 116 metres below sea level. A vast lunar landscape is present here, featuring fascinating salt lakes and unique geological phenomena. The region is spotted with volcanoes, including the Ertale, whose crater is home to the world’s only permanent active lava lake.

Discover the beauty of Ethiopia! Wander through natural jungle and the humid rainforests of the southwest. Climb the afro-alpine mountains, visit the mighty falls of the Blue Nile and experience the vastness of the grasslands and savannahs. Closely observe undisturbed wildlife in the 12 national parks and protected areas. Particular attention can be given to the number of endemic animals found only in Ethiopia including the Gelada baboon, the imposing Mountain Nyala or Simien Fox. And also bird lovers have something to enjoy: Ethiopia has one of the most interesting birdlifes of the African continent, with over 20 native species and another two to three dozen nearly endemic birds.
