Day 1: Addis Abeba – prehistoric archaeological site Melka Konture – stelae field at Tiya – Sodo – Arba Minch

Day 2: Arba Minch – Karat-Konso: Konso villages and the sculpted sand formation at Gesergiyo village (‘New York’)

Day 3: Karat-Konso – Weyto (Tsemai country) – Key Afar (Ari country) – Jinka (Ari country)

Day 4: Jinka – trip to the Mursi villages in the Mago National Park – Jinka

Day 5: Jinka – Dimeka (Hamer country) – Hamer villages at Turmi

Day 6: Turmi – Omorate (Dassanech country), cross the River Omo in a traditional boat (dugout) – possibly Turmi market (on Mondays only) with bull jumping ceremony

Note: Please note when planning your trip that the bull jumping ceremony of the Hamer people only takes place in the dry season (from roughly July to February). Furthermore, this ceremony is combined with a visit to the market in Turmi, which is held on Mondays. The market days of the visited villages are: Mondays for Turmi and Karat-Konso; Tuesdays for Dimeka (wood market); Thursdays in Key Afar; Saturdays for Dimeka (Womens Market), Chencha, Jinka and Karat-Konso.
