ONE-DAY TRIPS

Menangesha State Forest * Relax in unspoilt nature. Go hiking through the mountainous forest of Menagesha and seek out its rich resident wildlife. On the way back, stop in at the beer garden of the Meta brewery.

TWO- TO THREE- DAY TRIPS
The Mountain Town of Ankober * Escape the city for these stunningly beautiful mountains, located directly at the rim of the Great African Rift Valley. Stay overnight at the Ankober Lodge.
Volcanic Crater of Venchi * Glide through the water in a row boat on the picturesque crater lake of the extinct volcano Venchi and enjoy the ride through the gorgeous valley. Stay overnight at the Negash Lodge.
Awash National Park * Visit the Awash National Park for an unconventional bath in the natural hot springs water pools found here. Afterwards, cool off at the mighty waterfalls of the River Awash. In the park, catch a glimpse of the many gazelles and other wild animals found here. Spend the night in the park’s lodge.
The Lakes of Langano, Abiata and Shala * Relax on the shores of the lakes of the Great African Rift Valley and observe a wide variety of water birds and wild animals found there. Spend the night at the Bishangari or Sabana Lodge. The next day, take an optional drive to Awassa and spend the night, rising early the next morning to visit the fish market.
